Our Approach

Music is our 6th sense. When you surround yourself with it 24/7, you learn a thing or two. Exploring this sense through unique recording techniques and experimentation has brought us to where we are today.

Our Story

A Punk, some gear, and a stinky water heater closet with carpet from previous Oxnard Shores residence. The water heater closet, which we affectionately called “The Jam Room,” was the epicenter of our music creation and sharpening of skills… But it was only big enough for some amps, a drum set, and the rockers themselves.

Chris McKee is the punk-turned-producer who is the dude behind SideYard Records. “We created a space that could realize our aspirations as musicians, Record and edit/produce a zillion Demo Sessions. sessions. It’s an ever evolving studio.”

But Chris is not alone in this venture. Friends and family have contributed to this full functioning studio through time, gear, and a whole lot of dedication. That’s the beauty of music- it is constantly bringing us together.

SideYard Records is the place where you can conceptualize, write, record, and master.
